The people of the current or sea fearers are known as good promoters of gender equality, which can be found in Sulu province and some part of Tawi-Tawi province, Zamboanga Penensula and Jolo Municipality serves as capital town of Tausug people.

 

They follow standard islamic beliefs and practices through Sana (law), Agama (religion), Adat (customs), Panglima (district leaders), and Banwa (communities).
